Hand-Decorated Ostrich Egg Art

I decorate natural ostrich eggshells with raised wax, using a traditional wax-writing tool known in Romanian as a chișiță. Fine lines and dots form a textured surface; the wax stays on the shell as part of the finished work. The larger shell gives space for the detailed bands, geometric patterns and floral motifs you can see in this collection.

I learned this craft through my family in Bucovina, Romania. I carry that tradition into my work while exploring colours and influences from other cultures. Each finished design is individual and is not repeated identically. The photographs let you look closely at the ornaments and the texture of the wax.
